Gentamycin belongs to the group of aminoglycosides and acts bactericidal against mainly Gramnegative
bacteria like E. coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella and Salmonella spp.
The bactericidal action is based on inhibitionof bacterial protein synthesis.
